My Aching Brain

It was a Thursday, November 14th
I had a shooting pain down my left leg and so I
Went to the doctor and got an x-ray
I had a ruptured disk in the lumbar region of my back

So I worry about my health
My Aching Brain
I'm talking to myself
Will I have to live the rest of my life in a state of constant pain?

I was referred to a neurosurgeon
Who would remove ruptured disk that's in my back
It was a Thursday, December 19th
And they prepared me for my two-hour surgery that day

So I worry about my health

Five hours later I woke to find out
That I survived the knife and that my procedure went well
I asked the doctor for my prognosis
He smiled and laughed and said it's just too soon to tell
